Performance Lab Series Event #1: Mixashawn, the "Wave Artist"

Mixashawn, a jazz tenor saxophonist who has performed and recorded with Bobby McFerrin, Rashid Ali, Don Pullen, and Ravi Coltrane, presents "Live from Downtown Atlantis." Mixashawn sees the universe as composed of waves—sonic, aquatic, percussive, and harmonic—which converge in time past, present and future. In “Live from Downtown Atlantis,” he weaves his playing of tenor sax, flutes and the berimbau with story-telling and inviting audience participation. |
