Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now (www.conncan.org): a dynamic nonprofit organization that is leading the way in closing Connecticut’s academic achievement gap, the largest gap between rich and poor students of any public school system in the nation. Intern will be responsible for supporting the implementation of various community organizing and advocacy projects. Tasks will include, but are not limited to small research projects, scheduling and attending meetings with local community leaders, and logistical planning and support. Qualifications: • Must have an interest in education policy and grassroots organizing; • Must be a college junior, or higher; • Must have a valid driver’s license; • Excellent oral, written, and time management skills; • Flexibility with schedule—some evening and weekend work as needed; • Professional demeanor, self-directed, and a team player; • Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook); • Also, a great sense of humor is appreciated!
