Course Description:
Examples of major sectors in the American economy and some entrepreneurs who acted as catalysts thereof. Likely topics include growth before manufacturing and political independence, creating your own national market, the late-19th-century oil industry, government as a growth sector in the economy, and integrating modern science into business structures and practices. There will be a paper with research components on each major class topic. Class participation is required. An opportunity can be made for those who wish to satisfy the econometrics application for the B.S. degree in economics. |
