Julia Kiley brings several decades of experience to her teaching of Musical Theater Production. She studied acting and musical theater at the Circle in Square Theater in NYC, and went on to pursue a professional career as actress, director and producer. In New York, she was an original cast member of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, and went on to play Squeaky Fromme with the San Jose CLO. With the Ivoryton Playhouse in Essex, CT, she appeared in and/or directed upwards of forty shows and served as Associate Artistic Director from 2008-2011. At the Playhouse Julia also taught and directed college interns from around the country in annual summer productions. She has worked extensively with Connecticut's Seven Angels Theater as actress and director, last seen there in the one-woman show,  Shirley Valentine. Most recently she directed their production of George and Gracie: the Early Years, chosen as a top pick by Broadway World CT for February 2017. Julia currently teaches writing within the CREC system. She has been on the faculties of Hunter College as a graduate assistant, Central CT State University’s Theater Department, the Bushnell's Ensign Darling Fellows, The Hartford Conservatory and CREC's Hartford Academy of the Arts, where she directed Evita and co-founded their musical theater department.
