Lourdes Correa-Carlo studied History of Art at Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Rio Piedras and in 2000 she completed a BFA in Sculpture at Escuela de Artes Plásticas in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2009 Carlo earned a Masters Degree in Fine Art with concentration in Sculpture from Yale University. Lourdes was a Fellow Artist-in-Residence at CORE Program from the Museum of Fine Arts Houston in Texas. She has participated in Artists Residencies at the Center for Photography at Wooodstock, NY, the AIM Program from the Bronx Museum and Vermont Studio Center. Lourdes received The Artist’s Resource Trust Grant from The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, the Amy Tatro Scholarship from Yale University, the Francisco Vázquez–Compostela Sculpture Prize and the Arnaldo Roche Foundation Travel Grant from Escuela de Artes Plásticas. Carlo has shown her work Art Institutions that includes Real Art Ways, Hartford CT, Bronx Museum, NY, Art Center South Florida, Miami, FL, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, TX, Julius Caesar Gallery in Chicago, and Green Hall Gallery, New Haven, CT. Her artwork is been reviewed in Culture Map Houston, Art in America, Artlies, and Art Nexus.
