Shane Ewegen grew up in Colorado under the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. After receiving a BA in philosophy from the University of Colorado (Denver), Shane migrated slowly across the continent (by way of train) to Boston, where he received his MA and Ph.D. in philosophy at Boston College. He taught at Stonehill College in Easton, MA, for one year as a visiting professor, during which time he taught introductory and ethics courses. His research and teaching interests coincide and are focused mostly on Ancient philosophy, 20th Century Continental philosophy, phenomenology, and their intersections.
