Kate Bergren received her B.A. in English from Wellesley College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from UCLA. Her fields of interest include British Romantic poetry, nineteenth-century British literature, postcolonial literature and theory, the transatlantic, and ecocriticism. She is finishing a book manuscript titled The Global Wordsworth: Romanticism Out of Place, and has published articles in Modern Philology and ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment. She is currently researching two new articles: one about amateur parodies of British poetry printed in antebellum American newspapers, and one about the role of Romantic poetry in colonial British matriculation exams.
