Daniel recently moved from Eugene, Oregon, where his research focused on non-classical Hardy spaces and Fourier analysis. His most recent interest lies in variable function spaces, and heĀ is most fortunate to come to Trinity and collaborate with one of the experts of this field, Professor David Cruz-Uribe.
Daniel has taught undergraduate mathematics at the University of Oregon, with courses ranging from precalculus to elementary analysis, and looks forward to the transition from teaching at a large state school to a more intimate liberal arts environment. His teaching philosophy is simple: mathematics is not a spectator sport, and students must get their hands dirty. Having said that, it is a lot like running a marathon: it certainly doesn't require a gift, but does demand dedication.
