Dr. Keely Jones Stater earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame in 2005, specializing in the sociology of culture and political sociology.  Her research seeks to understand the cultural, structural, and political implications of civic engagement and the organization of civil society in the U.S. and cross-nationally.  Her publications have appeared in TheNonprofit andVoluntary Sector Quarterly and the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, among other scholarly outlets.  Most recently, she taught Nonprofit Studies from a sociological perspective in the University of Georgia's Public Adminsitration and Policy program.  She is currently working as a research analyst in conjunction with public housing industry group advocates in a public housing owned nonprofit risk retnetion group, Housing Authority Insurance Group.  She and her husband live in the Connecticut countryside.
