Vasil Gochev is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Before joining the Mathematics Department at Trinity, he served for one year as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Central Connecticut State University, four years as a Teaching Assistant at Wesleyan University from where he received his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2007, and more than fifteen years as an Assistant Professor and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Departments of Mathematics at Sofia University and Southwestern University in Bulgaria. His research interests are in Topology and Graph Theory.
In the classroom and outside Professor Gochev strives to show his students the beauty of mathematics and its connection and applications in the real-life situations, and to promote a passion for logical thinking and learning among them.
