Michelle Hendrick graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in theatre in 1994 and from the University of North Carolina Professional Actor training Program with an MFA in 1998.  Since 1998 she has been an Associate in Opera at the Hartt School/University of Hartford, teaching acting to opera students at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  She has led workshops and been a visiting instructor at the University of Massachusetts, Intermezzo Opera festival, the International School of the Philippines and CCSU.

Her professional work as an actress includes roles at Hartford Stage, TheatreWorks, Playmakers Repertory Company, and the Ko Festival among others.  Also a director, she has staged operas for the Hartt School and Intermezzo.
