Julia Goesser Assaiante is Visiting Lecturer in German in the Department of Modern Languages at Trinity College. She earned her B.A. in German Literature and Political Theory from Princeton University, and completed her Ph.D. in German Literature at New York University in September of 2009. She has taught all levels of German language instruction, as well as courses on modern German literature, cinema, and philosophy. Her research interests concentrate on eighteenth and early twentieth-century literature and philosophy, with an emphasis on poetic language, aesthetics, hermeneutics, and currents of anti-Enlightenment thought.
