Richard S. Ross is College Librarian and Professor at Trinity College, in Hartford Connecticut. He came to Trinity in 2000 and oversaw the construction of the Raether Library and Information Technology Center and serves as the Librarian of the Trinity Library and the Watkinson Library, the special collections division of the College Library.
His professional interests include library administration, collection development and management, information and digital technology. Areas of scholarly interest include 19th and 20th century German history; 19th century Prussian administrative history and public health with special emphasis on the pre-March era, epidemic disease in history, European economic and social history from the early modern period,and European and Colonial American witchcraft with special emphasis on continental European and English demonological tracts.
Prior to coming to Trinity he was the Assistant University Librarian for Collections and Organization at Georgetown University and served in a similar capacity at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Earlier he served as the Director of the Northeastern University Suburban Campus Libraries.
He has taught a first year seminar course at Trinity entitled "Witchcraft in Colonial America" and formerly served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Hampshire (Spring 1992); University of Rhode Island (Spring 1990) and Northeastern University (Winter and Spring quarters 1980-1986). |
