Then in 2006, Sheppard was honored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association by receiving the Diane Geppi-Aikens Lifetime Achievement Award.

Sheppard retired from coaching following the 1998-99 academic year to assume her full-time administrative duties, which included compliance for all 29 sports. Besides her responsibilities in the athletic department, she has served as the athletic liaison with the office of student services and as the Assistant Director of the First Year Program. She taught a First Year Seminar for 8 years where she served as an academic advisor to first year and sophomore students.  She has served on various faculty committees, most recently as the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. A native of Bridgeton, N.J., Sheppard received her B.S. from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton Sate College) and an M.A. from Trinity College.

She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) and at the NCAA level she has served as Chair of the National Field Hockey Committee and as Regional Chair of the New England Lacrosse Committee.

In 2013 she was one of the founding members of Venture Trinity; a 3-day leadership conference for first year women offered during pre-orientation.  Just recently she joined the Trinity Women’s Leadership Council in an effort to support and strengthen our alumnae network and looks forward to being part of the 50th celebration of co-education in 2019.
