Jeffrey H. Kaimowitz, Head Librarian of the Watkinson Library, has been at Trinity since 1977.  He has an A.B. from Johns Hopkins in Classics and a Ph.D. in Classics with a specialty in Roman poetry from the University of Cincinnati.  Before coming to Trinity, he taught Classics at Miami University (Ohio) from 1969 to 1973 and worked in special collections at The Research Libraries of The New York Public Library from 1973 to 1977.  He has published articles concerning Classics and publishing in the Renaissance as well as studies of printing and publishing in 18th and 19th century America.  He is also a literary translator, and his formal verse translation of Horace’s Odes was published by the Johns Hopkins University Press in the fall of 2008.
