Ciaran Berry, who has just joined the Trinity faculty this fall, will give an Inaugural Readnig of his poetry on Tuesday, 3 November, at 12:15 p.m. in Rittenberg Lounge. Those of us who have read Ciaran`s poetry have been stunned by its remarkable combination of intensity, music, and narrative. Please put this event on your calendars and invite your students for a real treat. Ciaran is an Irish poet who has spent the last decade living, writing, and teaching in the United States. His first full-length collection of poetry, The Sphere of Birds, was published in 2008 by Southern Illinois University Press in North America and by The Gallery Press in Ireland and the UK. His work has also been featured in The Best of Irish Poetry, Best American Poetry, Pushcart Prize XXXIII: Best of the Small Presses, and Best New Poets. *This is a common-hour event.
