Dan Martin grew up in Rhode Island, where he attended Rhode Island College for his bachelors (2010) and masters (2013) degrees in Mathematics.  In 2013, he moved to Connecticut, where he attended the University of Connecticut, and earned his doctorate in Mathematics (2018) working under his advisor Lan-Hsuan Huang in the area of Differential Geometry.   His thesis work focused on studying quantities like mass in general relativity, and he has given several talks related to his work.  

As an instructor, he enjoys incorporating technology into the learning experience.  Dan makes supplemental videos for his students, and regularly uses graphing utilities to help visualize concepts.  At the University of Connecticut, he received the Louis J. Deluca award for excellence in teaching.
