Lauren Lazarus began by majoring in both Physics and Classics as an undergraduate at the University of New Hampshire.  She then earned her Ph.D. at Cornell University, in the field of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, which she frequently describes as applied math, based on her focus on dynamical systems and delay differential equations.  Lauren spent a year at Harvey Mudd College for a teaching postdoctoral position and is now happily returning to the northeast.

Lauren enjoys teaching mathematics and broadening both her students’ and her own perspectives on math at various levels.  She tries to use a combination of teaching techniques to reach every student, and will be developing those techniques further as a 2017 Project NExT Fellow with the Mathematical Association of America.  She is looking forward to teaching at Trinity and working with students both in and out of the classroom.
