Susanne holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and teaches at the University of Connecticut, where she has been resident director of the Summer Study Abroad Program in St. Petersburg, Russia. She is a teaching artist for the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.

Susanne Davis's short stories have been published in numerous journals including: American Short Fiction, Notre Dame Review, descant, Feminist Studies, St. Petersburg Review, Zone 3, Carve and Boston Fiction Annual Review. Her work has won awards and recognition including: Hemingway First Novel Award, American Short Fiction Contest (second place), and mention as distinguished story in Best American Short Stories series, among others.

Her novel, Gravity Hill, is currently under agent representation and a section was featured at the Boston Fiction Festival.
